Florida Theatre (historic performance venue)

The Florida Theatre opened in 1927 as a movie palace and operates today as a downtown performing arts venue hosting concerts, comedy shows, and community events. Its ornate Spanish-Mediterranean architecture and marquee are recognizable features of Jacksonville's cultural landscape. The theatre continues to be one of the city's principal historic venues for live performance.
