Sewall–Ware House

The Sewall–Ware House, located at 100 S. Main Street in Sherborn, Massachusetts, is a historic site with deep roots in American history. Originally associated with Samuel Sewall, a judge known for his role in the Salem witch trials, the house may have been built for a tenant farmer under his guidance. In the mid-18th century, it served as the boyhood home of Henry Ware, a notable divinity professor at Harvard College. Although it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, the house was delisted in 2025 after being relocated, which did not comply with preservation protocols. This site offers a glimpse into the colonial past and the lives of influential figures in early American education and law.
