AMP Building, Sydney

The AMP Building, located in the heart of Sydney's central business district, is a historic high-rise office tower that was once the tallest building in Australia when it was completed in 1962. Designed by Peddle, Thorp and Walker, it features innovative technologies for its time, including ducted air-conditioning and high-speed lifts. The building's observation deck attracted over a million visitors in its first two years. Recently renovated and now known as 33 Alfred Street, it was recognized for its architectural significance and heritage by being listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register in January 2025.
