Woodside (Belle Mina, Alabama)

Woodside was a historic Greek Revival residence in Belle Mina, Alabama, built in 1861 by Porter Bibb for his daughter, Mary Chambers Bibb, on land that was part of Alabama Governor Thomas Bibb's estate. The house featured a central portico and a center-hall plan with elegant Greek Revival details. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 but tragically was destroyed by fire in November 2022. This site offers a glimpse into Alabama's architectural history and the legacy of the Bibb family.
