La Charrette

La Charrette, once the smallest cinema in the UK, was a charming 23-seat venue located in Parkmill, near Swansea. Built from a disused railway carriage, it opened in 1953 and showcased a variety of films over the decades, including classics like Oliver Twist and modern hits like Saving Private Ryan. After closing in February 2008 due to structural decay, it was given a memorable farewell featuring a premiere screening attended by notable actors. The cinema was later restored and relocated to the Gower Heritage Centre, preserving its unique history and charm for future visitors.
