Tuckwiller Tavern

Tuckwiller Tavern, located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, is a historic site built between 1826 and 1828, showcasing early rusticated Greek Revival architecture. This two-story brick building features a striking portico with four large white columns and a brick smokehouse on the property. Notably, during the American Civil War, it served as a headquarters for Union General David Hunter in 1864. Recognized for its historical significance, Tuckwiller Tavern was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
