Bunker Hill Monument (located on Breed's Hill)

The granite obelisk known as the Bunker Hill Monument commemorates the June 17, 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill and is managed by the National Park Service. Despite its name, the principal fighting of that battle occurred on nearby Breed's Hill, and the monument stands on Breed's Hill in Charlestown. The site is a prominent local symbol of Revolutionary War memory and is a designated National Historic Landmark.
