Vogel House

Vogel House, located at 75 Woburn Road in Lower Hutt, New Zealand, is a neo-Georgian-style residence built in 1933. It served as the official residence for New Zealand's Prime Minister from 1977 to 1990, hosting notable figures including Queen Elizabeth II. Originally constructed for James and Jocelyn Vogel, the property was gifted to the government in 1965 and has a rich history, including use as the Australian High Commissioner's residence. After a series of ownership changes and a legal dispute, it was returned to the Vogel family in 2019. The house is recognized as a Category I historic place by Heritage New Zealand, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in New Zealand's political and architectural history.
