Mersey Chambers

Mersey Chambers, constructed in 1878 for the Harrison Shipping Line in Liverpool, is a notable Grade II listed building designed by G.E. Grayson. It overlooks St. Nicholas' churchyard, which was transformed into a public garden in 1891 to honor James Harrison, a partner in the company. The building features a functional rear elevation with oriel windows for natural light and an interior arranged around a glazed court. A highlight is the elegant panelled boardroom dating back to around 1920, showcasing classical architectural style. Atop the structure is the 'third Liver bird', a smaller version of the iconic symbols of Liverpool.
