Zealandia (Asheville, North Carolina)

Zealandia is a historic house located in Asheville, North Carolina, built in 1908 in the Tudor Revival style. Originally constructed as a dream castle by John Evans Brown in 1889 after his return from New Zealand, it features striking architectural elements such as steep gables and heavy wrought iron gates. The property was later expanded by Sir Phillip S. Henry, who transformed it into a museum in 1930, showcasing ancient relics and a mural inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Although Zealandia is not currently open to the public, its rich history and unique architectural style make it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
