The Dakota's paranormal lore

The Dakota, completed in 1884, is a cooperative apartment building where residents and visitors have for decades reported unexplained noises, apparitions, and other odd phenomena. The building is also the location outside of which musician John Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980. Accounts of hauntings at the Dakota are widely circulated but are anecdotal and disputed.
