North East Neighborhood House

The North East Neighborhood House (NENH) is a historic building located in the Northeast neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, established in 1915 to provide social services to immigrants. Originally rooted in the Immanuel Sunday School from 1881, NENH evolved to meet the needs of a changing demographic, offering education, health care, and recreational activities. The facility, designed in neo-Georgian style, expanded its services throughout the 1920s and became a vital resource during the Great Depression. Although it faced challenges in the latter half of the 20th century, leading to its merger with another organization, the building remains a significant landmark, now renovated into apartments and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2001, reflecting its rich history and community impact.
