Loew's Kings Theatre (derelict movie palace before restoration)

Loew's Kings Theatre in Flatbush, Brooklyn, opened in 1929 as a lavish movie palace. It closed in 1977 and then sat largely derelict for decades, with its ornate interior and lobby falling into severe disrepair. A major public-private restoration began in the 2000s and the theater reopened to the public in 2015 after extensive rehabilitation.
