Kortrijk Conservatory

The Kortrijk Conservatory, established in 1870, is a prominent music and dance conservatory located in Kortrijk, Belgium. Originally a music school, it expanded in 1924 to include Dutch and French recitation and theatre. The conservatory is housed in a striking geometric glass building designed by architects A.G. and P.A. Pauwels, constructed in the early 1970s on the site of a former prison. This modern facility also accommodates Radio 2 West Flanders and has offered dance courses since its inception. With a rich history of educating over 100,000 students, the conservatory is a cultural hub for aspiring musicians and dancers.
