San Francisco recognition of Indigenous Peoples' Day

In 2018 the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples' Day as the city's official observance on the second Monday in October. The change was adopted by city government and is observed with official proclamations and events often centered at San Francisco City Hall.
