Bank of Scott

The Bank of Scott, located at 1102 Saint Mary Street in Scott, Louisiana, is a historic one-story red brick building constructed in 1910, showcasing early 20th-century Commercial architecture. Originally serving as a bank until the Great Depression in 1932, it later became a meeting space for local government and has had various uses over the years. Notably photographed by New Deal photographer Russell Lee in 1938, the building was transformed into a private residence by Paul Begnaud in 1976, who welcomed visitors until his passing in 2015. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
