Capitol Centre, Singapore

The Capitol Centre was a versatile building in Singapore that underwent several transformations since its establishment in 1976. Originally built as a temporary resettlement centre, it later served as a parking station, a design centre, and finally a retail centre before its demolition in 2012 as part of a major redevelopment project. The site has a rich history, previously housing the Union Jack Club for British servicemen and evolving into a popular bus terminus and car park for the nearby Capitol Theatre. The redevelopment led to the creation of Capitol Piazza and Eden Residences Capitol, enhancing the area with modern shopping and residential options, officially opened in May 2015.
