Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum - Smithsonian chronicle of Memphis music pioneers

Created by the Smithsonian Institution and opened in 2000, the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum documents the contributions of Memphis musical figures including B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Rufus Thomas, and others. The museum displays artifacts, recordings, and oral histories that trace the development of blues, soul, and early rock in Memphis. Its exhibits place those performers in the social and cultural context of the city.
