Gold Fields House

Gold Fields House was a prominent high-rise office building located in Sydney's central business district, completed in 1966. Designed by Peddle, Thorp and Walker, it stood 27 stories tall and was one of the city's earliest skyscrapers, creating a gateway alongside the AMP Building. The structure featured a unique blend of steel and concrete, adorned with glass mosaic tiles and marble finishes. After serving its purpose for decades, it was sold for redevelopment in 2014 and demolished between 2017 and 2018. The site is now set for a new development, including a luxury residential tower and Australia's first Waldorf Astoria hotel, promising to enhance the architectural landscape of Sydney's Circular Quay area.
