Christian County Courthouse (Illinois)

The Christian County Courthouse, located at 101 South Main Street in Taylorville, Illinois, serves as the governmental center for the county. This historic site is the second courthouse built for Christian County, with the first constructed in 1840 where Abraham Lincoln once practiced law. The current Romanesque Revival courthouse was completed in 1902 and underwent extensive restoration in 2002. Visitors can also explore the original Lincoln courthouse, now situated on the grounds of the Christian County Historical Society.
