Beehive (New Zealand)

The Beehive, or Te Whare Mīere in Māori, is the Executive Wing of New Zealand's Parliament, located in Wellington. Its unique beehive shape makes it an architectural landmark and a symbol of New Zealand's government. Completed in 1981, it houses the offices of government ministers, including the Prime Minister on the ninth floor. The building is a Category I heritage site, recognized for its historical significance and distinctive design. Inside, visitors can find impressive artworks and facilities, including a large banquet hall and a national crisis management center. The Beehive is not only a functional government building but also a cultural icon, featured on the New Zealand twenty-dollar note.
