Dyckman Farmhouse Museum and Inwood area Lenape history

The Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, Manhattan’s preserved Dutch Colonial farmhouse, interprets local history including the presence of Lenape peoples in northern Manhattan prior to European settlement. Archaeological surveys and historical records show the Inwood and Dyckman areas were used seasonally and permanently by Lenape communities, and the museum presents material and interpretive programs about that Indigenous history. The site stands within a part of Manhattan long recognized as Lenapehoking, the traditional Lenape homeland.
