The pier was known for its extravagant design, illuminated by 250,000 light bulbs, and included unique attractions like diving girls and a monkey in a hot-air balloon. Unfortunately, a catastrophic fire in 1912 led to its demise, marking the end of a brief but colorful chapter in California's amusement history.
