Gloria Dei (Old Swedes') Church

Gloria Dei (Old Swedes') Church was founded by Swedish settlers in 1677 and the present stone church building was completed around 1700. It is recognized as the oldest church in Pennsylvania and was designated a National Historic Landmark for its significance to colonial Swedish and early Pennsylvania history. The site includes an historic churchyard with 18th-century gravestones and interprets the area's early colonial heritage.
