Chelsea Market (Nabisco/Loft Building)

Chelsea Market occupies a former Nabisco factory complex where the Oreo cookie was invented and produced; the site was converted into a marketplace and office complex in the 1990s. The building complex dates to the late 19th and early 20th centuries and reflects the industrial history of Manhattan's Meatpacking District. Today Chelsea Market is a mixed-use landmarked site housing food vendors, shops, and media offices while preserving architectural elements of its manufacturing past.
