Monterey is a historic plantation house in Roanoke, Virginia, built around 1845 in the Greek Revival style. This two-story brick dwelling features a distinctive 'L'-shape due to two additions made after 1871, along with a full-width verandah and a two-story gallery. Set on 116 acres of protected land, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The property is owned by George Kegley, a dedicated community volunteer, and is notable for being the only conservation easement on private land within Roanoke City limits. Visitors can appreciate the historical significance of the house and its picturesque surroundings, which include neighboring golf courses.
