Joe Louis Arena (former home of the Detroit Red Wings)

Joe Louis Arena opened in 1979 and served as the home arena for the NHL's Detroit Red Wings from 1979 until 2017. The arena hosted numerous playoff runs, concerts, and civic events during its decades of use. It was closed after the 2016–2017 season and subsequently demolished beginning in 2020 as part of redevelopment of the riverfront complex.
