Renwick Gallery

Designed by architect James Renwick Jr. and completed in 1859, the Renwick Gallery is a historic building that now operates as a branch of the Smithsonian American Art Museum focused on contemporary craft and decorative arts. The gallery was designated a National Historic Landmark and underwent a major renovation that reopened to the public in 2015. It regularly mounts temporary exhibitions highlighting contemporary craft, furniture, and installation art.
