Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House

Completed in 1907 and designed by architect Cass Gilbert, the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House at One Bowling Green houses the National Museum of the American Indian. The Beaux-Arts building is a designated National Historic Landmark and is noted for its monumental sculptural program, including works by Daniel Chester French. The interior features an ornate rotunda and extensive marble finishes that reflect its original federal function.
