Luxor Sky Beam

The Luxor Sky Beam is produced by 39 xenon lamps mounted at the apex of the Luxor hotel's black glass pyramid and was installed when the resort opened in 1993. It projects a narrow, intense vertical column of light visible from many parts of the Las Vegas Valley and is a prominent nighttime landmark on the south end of the Strip. The beam's installation and maintenance are notable for the concentration of light output required to create the effect. The Luxor pyramid and its sky beam are part of the resort complex's architectural identity.
