Franklin School / Planet Word building

The Franklin School, designed by architect Adolf Cluss and completed in 1869, is an historic public school building noted for its high Victorian architecture. It was designated a National Historic Landmark for its role in 19th-century public education and later reopened in 2020 as Planet Word, a museum focused on language arts. The adaptive reuse preserved the building's exterior and many interior features while creating interactive exhibition spaces for public programs.
