Santa Rita Hotel

The Santa Rita Hotel, a historic landmark in downtown Tucson, Arizona, was designed by architect Henry Trost and opened in 1904 as the finest hotel in the Arizona Territory. Built at a cost of $175,000, it featured 101 guest rooms, a grand lobby, and modern amenities for its time, including electric elevators and private bathrooms. The hotel served as a cultural hub, hosting notable guests and events, and played a significant role in Tucson's early 20th-century development. Despite its historical importance, the original building was closed in 1972 and demolished in 2009, marking the end of an era for this iconic establishment.
