Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (modernist museum)

Designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and completed in 1974, the Hirshhorn Museum is notable for its cylindrical, concrete modernist building and elevated plaza on the National Mall. The museum houses the Smithsonian's collection of modern and contemporary art and is accompanied by the adjacent Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden.
