Sitnyakovo

Sitnyakovo is a picturesque summer royal residence located in the Rila mountain region of Bulgaria, built in 1904 for Ferdinand I. Its architectural style features a blend of traditional high-mountain construction and art nouveau elements, making it a unique site to explore. Close to the popular Borovets resort and the Tsarska Bistritsa palace, Sitnyakovo is historically significant as the location where Ferdinand I signed a treaty among Balkan countries in 1913. After the monarchy's fall, it served the Writer's Union during the communist era and was returned to Tsar Simeon II in the 1990s, adding to its rich historical narrative.
