Creux de l'Enfer

The Creux de l'Enfer is a contemporary art center situated in the scenic Vallée des Usines in Thiers, France. Established in 1988 within a repurposed cutlery factory, the center showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions, including sculpture, photography, painting, and video installations. With a dynamic quarterly program, it has hosted notable exhibitions featuring renowned artists such as Mona Hatoum, Erró, and Thomas Hirschhorn. The center has evolved under the leadership of various directors, currently led by Sophie Auger-Grappin since 2018, making it a vibrant hub for art enthusiasts and researchers alike.
