Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) - EMP origins and building

The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) opened in 2000 as the Experience Music Project, founded and funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen. The museum was renamed Museum of Pop Culture in 2016 and houses rotating exhibits on music, science fiction, and popular culture. Its building at Seattle Center was designed by architect Frank O. Gehry and is noted for its sculptural, curving forms.
