Palacio Quemado

Palacio Quemado, or the Burnt Palace, is a historic site in downtown La Paz, Bolivia, serving as the former official residence of the President from 1853 until 2018, with a brief return in 2019-2020. Located on Plaza Murillo, it is adjacent to the La Paz Cathedral and the Bolivian legislature. The palace earned its nickname after being set ablaze during a revolution in 1875. Although it has been rebuilt and redecorated multiple times, the name remains. Today, it functions as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Bolivia's political history and architecture.
