Centennial Tower (Philippines)

The Centennial Tower, also known as Luneta Tower, was a proposed 390-meter observation tower in Manila, designed by Filipino architect Francisco Mañosa to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Philippine independence. Initially planned for Rizal Park, the site was later moved to Pasig due to public backlash. The tower's design, inspired by a bamboo torch, aimed to highlight the country's heritage and included a restaurant and office spaces. Despite plans for construction by a German firm in the late 1990s, the project faced criticism and was ultimately never built, raising discussions about its impact on the historical significance of Rizal Park.
