Karlsschule Stuttgart

The Karlsschule Stuttgart, originally founded in 1770 as a military orphanage by Duke Karl Eugen of Württemberg, evolved into a prestigious military academy by 1773. Located in Stuttgart, the school aimed to elevate the duke's status and was later granted university status in 1781. Notable alumni include the famous poet Friedrich Schiller, who faced challenges during his early years but thrived in the medical faculty, leading to his literary career. The academy was disbanded in 1794 after the duke's death, and its building was destroyed during World War II. Today, it stands as a historical site of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
