Piedmont Buggy Factory

The Piedmont Buggy Factory, located in Monroe, North Carolina, is a historic site built in 1910, originally serving as a buggy manufacturing facility. This three-story brick building, notable for its six distinct shades of red, showcases early 20th-century industrial architecture. In the late 1910s, it transitioned to textile production and was known as Bearskin Cotton Mills until its closure in 1956. The site also features a late-1910s boiler house and a steel water tower, adding to its historical significance.
