Burton Barr Central Library

Burton Barr Central Library opened in 1995 as the main branch of the Phoenix Public Library system. Designed by architect Will Bruder, the building is noted for a concrete roof that appears to float above glass walls and for sawtooth skylights that bring daylight into the interior. The building underwent major renovations and structural upgrades in the 2010s and is widely cited as a landmark of late-20th-century civic architecture in Phoenix.
