Esquire Tavern opened in 1933 on the San Antonio River Walk and occupies a storefront at river level beneath Commerce Street, giving it a tucked-away atmosphere compared with street-level businesses. The tavern is noted for its long restored mahogany bar and vintage 1930s-era interior details that are less visible from the street above. Esquire has been documented as one of the oldest continuously operating bars on the River Walk.
