Gum Wall in Post Alley

The Gum Wall is an informal public art installation on Post Alley beneath Pike Place Market outside the Market Theater that accumulated layers of chewed gum beginning in the 1990s. It became a popular tourist photo spot and was famously cleaned by the Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority in November 2015; the gum subsequently returned. The site remains an idiosyncratic local attraction and pedestrian landmark in Pike Place Market.
