DeRidder USO Building

The DeRidder USO Building, constructed in 1941, served as a vital recreational hub for U.S. armed forces during World War II, welcoming over 89,000 soldiers. Notably, it was the first USO built outside a military reservation, making it a unique historical site. Today, it functions as the Civic Center for Beauregard Parish, featuring memorabilia and plaques honoring military leaders, as well as a rare Norden bombsight. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, making it a significant stop for tourists and researchers interested in military history.
