Odd Fellows Hall (Covington, Kentucky)

The Odd Fellows Hall, built in 1856, is a historic landmark in Covington, Kentucky, located at the intersection of Fifth Street and Madison Avenue. It played a pivotal role in the city's civic and political life during the Victorian era, hosting significant events such as a reception for Union Gen. Ulysses S. Grant after the Civil War and the lying in state of assassinated Governor William Goebel in 1900. The hall features a remarkable second-floor ballroom with a 25-foot-high ceiling, which was transformed into a roller skating rink in the 1950s. Recognized for its architectural significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. After a devastating fire in 2002, the hall was restored and reopened in 2006, continuing its legacy as a center for community activities.
