NRG Astrodome (Houston Astrodome)

Opened in 1965 as the world’s first multi-purpose, domed stadium, the Astrodome is located within the NRG Park complex. It was closed to regular public events in 2009 and has remained largely unused for sporting events and concerts since then while various redevelopment and preservation proposals have been debated. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014 and has been used intermittently for storage, film shoots, and emergency-related purposes.
