Peleg Brown Ranch

The Peleg Brown Ranch, located in Reno, Nevada, is a historic site dating back to 1864, known for its unique blend of Bungalow/Craftsman and Greek Revival architecture. Originally established by pioneer rancher Peleg Brown, the ranch played a significant role in the agricultural development of the Truckee Meadows, particularly in introducing alfalfa to the region. The main house, renovated in the mid-20th century, and a charming Craftsman-style playhouse from around 1900 are among the five contributing buildings on the property. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, the ranch also served as a stagecoach stop and was integral to the irrigation and agricultural advancements that supported the Comstock Lode mining area.
