Indianapolis Motor Speedway - Yard of Bricks

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500, retains a one-yard strip of the original brick paving at the start/finish line known as the "Yard of Bricks." The track has hosted the Indianapolis 500 nearly every year since 1911, and winning drivers traditionally kiss the Yard of Bricks as part of the winner's celebration. Photographs and videos of the Yard of Bricks and winners kissing it are frequently circulated on social media and in national motorsports coverage.
