The Sphere (Fritz Koenig) at Liberty Park

The Sphere is a large bronze sculpture by Fritz Koenig that stood in the plaza of the original World Trade Center and was heavily damaged on September 11, 2001. After restoration and years in storage, the sculpture was relocated and reinstalled in Liberty Park adjacent to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in 2017 as a memorial artifact. The work remains a preserved, tangible remnant of the original World Trade Center site and its history.
