The Parthenon in Centennial Park

The Nashville Parthenon is a full-scale replica of the Athenian Parthenon originally built for the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition; the permanent concrete recreation dates to the early 20th century. The building houses an art museum and a 42-foot gilded statue of Athena sculpted by Alan LeQuire and installed in 1990. The site is a documented landmark in Centennial Park and a noted attraction for architecture and art in Nashville.
